Busy Yet Fun Weekend

Three family friends of ours are coming over this weekend. Two of the families will be staying in our house. We’ve already prepared our guestroom and our daughter’s room for them to stay for a few nights. Both these families have 2 children who are almost the same age with our children. So, I can’t imagine how lively and fun this household will be during the weekend.

Yes, I’ll be quite busy  hosting our guests but it’ll also be so much of fun. It’s actually a great change from our lonely days being by ourselves here in the house. And not to mention, I won’t get so much stressed with my guests because they’re the same nationality with me and they’re my close friends.

I usually get worried when guests stay in our house especially when I don’t know my guests that well. I get stressed over the food  I need to cook, their expectations and so many things.

I know I don’t have that gift of hospitality but as my Hubby always tell me, even if I don’t have that gifting BUT I can always learn it… Yeah, I think he’s right.. but as an introvert, I’m sure I have a lot more adjustments and learning to make. :)

Where Was I?

Oh, I haven’t touched this blog for 6 days..  Where was I for the past 6 days? Well, I’ve just been around here at the house but was quite busy with kids and household stuff.

Our friends are coming over to our house and staying for a few days. So, we had to prepare the guestroom which had previously been our store room. It’s actually an advantage that guests will be staying in our house. If not for the guests, I’m sure this guestroom will remain to be a storeroom for ages.

You see, after we moved in a month ago, we actually just concentrated in setting up the dining room, living room and kitchen. We didn’t think much about all our extra clothes, books, old stuff and what nots that are inside the guestroom. That room has been very messy for quite sometime that even I, myself get a headache whenever I go there. It’s like, I want to start organizing it but don’t know where to start . As a result, I haven’t done anything with it for weeks.

So, it was just a few days ago, that my hubby and I set some time to sort out all the stuff inside that room.

Now, we’ve settled about 90% of it. I mean, we threw everything inside the plastic boxes and think about their contents later. Now, our problem will be, where to put all these boxes?  We don’t have an extra room for storage.

Anyways, it’s already quite late so, we’ll have to think about that tomorrow. Good night!

Time Out

night sky

The only time when my Hubby and I can have quiet time alone is when our kids are asleep at night. So, you can imagine the relief when both kids are already off to dreamland.

But tonight, my kids didn’t sleep immediately. It took me almost 2 hours to put them to sleep. So, you can also imagine the frustration. And finally, I thought they were already both asleep so, I tip toed downstairs, washed the dishes and was ready to mix myself a cup of coffee and relax when… I saw a head pop out from the kitchen door. It was my daughter. Arrghh!! Why is she still awake? I thought she was already fast asleep when I left the room? I got frustrated and didn’t let her say a word but immediately asked her to go back to the room and sleep. And thankfully she did.

So, now there’s complete peace and quiet in the house. I could only hear the dogs barking from the neighborhood. Let me get my cup of coffee , sit on the couch and read a book. Now, that would be a perfect time out for me. Bye for now!
