Feels Like A Saturday

Today is a Sunday but it feels more like a Saturday for me. I guess  it’s because of the coming two days holiday starting tomorrow. It’s nice to have long weekends. I get to relax a bit and not think about our girl’s school work, uniforms and homeschool.I hope there will be more long weekends. :)

9th Birthday

My niece is turning 9 years old this next week ( 3rd of August). Her birthday is actually a day after my birthday. Anyways, we’re planning to do something special for her. I saw this Princess Ice Cream cake from DQ and I’m planning to buy one for her as a surprise. It’ll be nice if we can all wake her up with the cake and sing her birthday song. But then, her birthday falls on a weekday which means Hubby has to go to work and our daughter has to go to school. So, I guess the morning surprise won’t work.

Anyways, I’ll have to think of how to surprise her and at the same time start looking for a present for her too.

Budgeting and More

I noticed that our grocery expenses are getting higher and higher each month. So, I did a little evaluation and try to see whether there are items we bought that are a ‘luxury’ or impractical for us. But then, most of the things we buy are food items and therefore not a luxury. One very noticeable thing though is that we changed our kids’ milk. Instead of buying the powdered milk, we are now buying fresh milk for them. A liter of milk only lasts for 2-3 days which means we have to buy a lot in a months time. But it’s no regret buying this milk though because it’s fresh and more healthy for us and the kids.

Anyways, as moms and domestic diva, it’s important to budget our income and expenses well so, as to avoid being on debt. Some Mom’s opt for credit when there’s no more food supply. Being on credit indeed helps us in times of emergency but it’s not wise to always rely on it.

And speaking of credit, have you heard about the TransUnion Lawsuit? If you applied for credit in the US between 1987 to 2000, you might get some claims against TransUnion.
