Aircon?

The aircon guy is coming tomorrow. He’s going to fix 2 airconditioning units in our house – 1 for the master’s bedroom then the other one for the guestroom. I remember the ‘aircon’ conversation with my Hubby a few years back. You see, I love to be in the airconditioned rooms that’s why it’s always a treat for me to stay in hotels and guestrooms with aircon. So, when my Hubby knew about this, he told me that we better buy an aircon unit in the future. Of couse, I didn’t agree with his suggestion because airconditioning units are quite expensive here. And then, he asked me, ” What if someone will give us a unit? would you take it or not?” . I thought for awhile and then still said, “No” because I was thinking that even if the airconditioning unit is free, but we still have to pay the high electricity bill. Then, I added, “Hmm, unless that person who’s giving us the aircon is willing to pay for our electricity bill too!” LOL! Of course, I was just kidding!

Fast forward to the present.. our aircon units are coming tomorrow. And guess what, we didn’t buy these units because they are given to us for free. :) Of course, we had to accept them even if it doesn’t come with free monthly electric bills (LOL!)  because first, it’s a blessing from God and second, we are now in the capacity to pay a little bit of extra for our electric bill. We also think that it’ll be good for the kids ( and us!) since they usually sleep longer and more comfortably in an airconditioned room. Thank God for these blessings!

My ‘Cooking History’

Author: admin  //  Category: Cooking, Daily Life, Family Life

I confess, I’ve never been a good cook and cooking hasn’t been my favorite thing to do ever since I was young. You see, I’m the youngest in our family and we grew up with someone to cook for us. My Mom had a full time job and we had a house helper to do all the cooking and the housework. When there during the times when our house helper is on leave, my sister on the other hand, takes charge of the kitchen. She just loves to cook so, I gladly left that job to her.

So, you can imagine the adjustment that I had to go through when I got married. My Hubby and I were based in a different country and I was a full time housewife – who could never cook! LOL! But then, I tried my best to get myself out of bed and cook something for my Hubby and I. But it was a great blessing that my HUbby completely understood my background and he never expected me to cook for him everyday. So, most of the days we bought food from the shops outside or we eat out. I could only count how many times I cooked in the house for a year. Then, I got pregnant and the more I had an excuse to stay away from the kitchen because of the I didn’t like the cooking oil smell at all.

Fast forward 2 kids later, I find it more practical to have home cooked meals as outside food and eating out is getting more expensive by the day. And apart from that I seem to enjoy cooking more than ever.

So, that’s my cooking history…

Get More Done In Less Time

donna otto book

I’ve finally finished this great book by Donna Otto. It’s a book about home organization and it’s what I really need. After moving in our new house for 5 weeks now, our house isn’t that organized yet. It may look organized from afar but wait till you get inside the guestroom. That room is not worthy to be called as a guestroom as of this moment. As for now, I would like to call it the ‘messy room’.

Anyways, this book from Donna Otto is very inspiring especially for me who wants to be organized but doesn’t know where to start. As for a start, I’m already trying out to have my Day Book as what the author strongly recommends as it is the best tool to keep yourself organized. A Day Book is actually a planner but with all the other forms attached. Forms like goals you want to achieve, weekly menu planner, food log, exercise log and etc. So, just today, I started to plan for my goals and activities for this month. I’ll have to continue with the others tomorrow. I think I’ll have to do this one at a time.
