Hundred of thousands more of the Simplicity cribs has been recalled this month due to it’s defect.
The Simplicity cribs’ hardware can break or deform, allowing the drop side to detach and create a gap between the mattress and the side of the crib where a small child could be trapped and suffocate.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said that the used of this product should be immediately stopped.
An eight-month-old baby in Houston, Texas, died when it got stuck between the mattress and a defective drop-down side of the crib.
Below is an illustration on how the simplicity crib defect can lead to suffocation.
